Alliance Victim Support

Testimonial

The Alliance Support Group wished to established a website that would both attract and inform those we represented throughout the world. We decided to ask Heraghty Internet Consultants to do this for us. We have been exceedingly happy with their efforts. We would strongly recommend Heraghty Internet Consultants.

– Tom Hayes, Secretary, Alliance Victim Support Group

Background

The Alliance Victim Support Group was established in 1999 to meet the needs of individuals who, as children, suffered abuse in Ireland’s State-run residential institutions.

Its services include counselling, personal support, family tracing, and advice on gaining financial assistance and compensation from Irish statutory bodies.

Challenge

The Alliance committee decided to invest in a new corporate identity and website communications strategy. Its objectives were to raise awareness of the organisation’s activities and of the services it provides to victims of abuse.

The group wanted to use the website to communicate more effectively with its members and interested individuals around the world; and to publish press releases, news announcements and other official statements.

Solution

Heraghty Internet Consultants worked closely with the Alliance to create a new corporate identity. MHIC provided the group with a new logo and motifs that are now used in its official letterhead and other print publications, as well as on the website.

We also designed and built a clean, usable, search-engine friendly website. We integrated a content management system and a discussion forum.

Since launching the Alliance Vicitim Support website in 2003, we have continued to advise the client and have upgraded the backend of the website on two occassions.

Results

The Alliance Support website has been a resounding success. It has enabled former residents of Irish institutions around the world to contact the organisation, and find out about available assistance.

The website has been regularly maintained and updated since its initial launch. At the time of writing, the website gets thousands of visitors each week. It has become a prime resource for information about the Irish Residential Institutions Redress Board and the Commission to Enquire into Child Abuse.
